NEW SINGLE POWER POLES

REVIEW BY MIKE MINEO ~ OBSCURE SOUND
A spacious rock appeal, fit for an open-road yearning, lingers on new single “Power Poles.” The production is a memorable showing from Australian duo Raven & the Dove, comprising Cindy Lee and David Swift… yearning for home is especially evident at mid-point — “sunrise, red as my eyes,” Lee’s sweltering vocals let out, as a spoken-word intermittence furthers a narrative with an endless-feeling road ahead. The guitar work in this second half dazzles with grippingly melodic fervency as soulful vocal layers converge. “Go back,” the vocals repeat, concluding with a bluesy satisfaction. “Power Poles” is a strong showing from Raven & the Dove.”
